Djokovic firmed from $2.25 into $1.90 at Sportingbet after Nadal fell to Belgian world number 135 Steve Darcis in straight sets.

“It’s the biggest round 1 upset we’ve seen since Lleyton Hewitt lost to Ivo Karlovic in 2003,” Sportingbet Australia spokesman Andrew Brown said.

“Nadal went into the match as a clear-cut $1.01 favourite and we took just 2 bets of $3 each on Darcis at odds of $17,” Brown said.

2012 runner-up Andy Murray’s odds of going one better this year have firmed from $4.50 into $3.25 at Sportingbet, while defending champion Roger Federer is $8.00 into $5.00.

Lleyton Hewitt’s odds of winning a second Wimbledon crown have shortened from $251 into $151 at Sportingbet after the 2002 champion stunned 11th-seed Stanislas Wawrinka in straight sets in their round 1 match.
