A rematch of last year’s Qualifier is in order on Friday between the Thunder and Strikers.

Adelaide will be eager to put some wins on the board after struggling early last season, especially with big names like Alex Carey and Travis Head still serving Test duty.

The Thunder, meanwhile, will have revenge in mind after losing by six runs to bring a close to their season last year.

Sydney’s opening win over the Stars on Tuesday came at the hands of their bowling attack as Gurinder Sandhu, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Daniel Sams all took two wickets each.

The Thunder boast some serious pace with ball in hand this year, which should come in handy against a Strikers side that is now missing two of last year’s leading runscorers, Jonathan Wells and Matthew Short.

There is definite value on Adelaide here, but I can’t get past the fact they haven’t beaten the Thunder in Sydney since 2018. With the Thunder bowling attack looking sharp, this could be a long night for the visitors.
