The Stars fell short by a wicket to the Thunder in Tuesday’s season-opener, a performance they’ll be hoping to build on back home against the Hurricanes on Friday.

Despite the loss, Melbourne’s bowling attack looked sharp with Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Beau Webster, and captain Adam Zampa all taking multiple wickets, only for the batting attack to struggle on the scoresheet.

Fortunately, the ‘Canes aren’t particularly strong with white ball in hand following the departure of last year’s leading wicket-taker, Tom Rogers.

Consistency was also a huge problem for Hobart last year, especially at the very start of the season.
