It all went pear-shaped for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash last season, as the most dominant franchise in the competition’s history finished on the bottom of the table. Can they bounce back this season? I think that they can. The loss of Shaun Marsh isn’t ideal, but Ashton Turner has developed into a genuine match-winner in this competition and Cameron Green has been nothing short of outstanding with the bat this season. Their bowling attack is right up there with the best in the competition and it really wouldn’t surprise if Jhye Richardson was able to dominate this competition with the ball. The Scorchers can return to their winning formula of restricting their rivals to small totals and cruising to victory without needing to take any real risks.
