Sydney’s Autumn carnival comes to an end on Saturday were we will see the running of three Group 1 races including the feature the Sydney Cup although the best race on the day looks to be the All Aged Stakes where we see More Joyous take on All Too Hard and Epaulette which looks very intriguing.

Finally the weather has been kind in Sydney and we should see a Dead track on Saturday which will definitely help those horses who like the firmer surfaces to what we have seen in the last few weeks at Randwick.

Race One: Johnnie Walker Frank Packer 2000m Form Guide

Back Me:Cameo was awfully disappointing last start but the slow track didn’t suit her. She will improve on top of the ground on Saturday and two starts back she beat Royal Descent who won the Oaks comprehensively last weekend. At $21 she looks superb value.

Don’t Back Me: Kingdoms has been well beaten by It’s A Dundeel in his past two starts. He has raced erratically during his races and i would like to see him gelded before he has any of my money on him.
Big Danger: Toydini has beaten most of these runners in his past two starts and i can’t see them turning the tables on him here.
Roughie: Honorius was very good last preparation and i think he can improve on Saturday with the increased distance and looks to be the best roughie in the race.

Race Two: Sharp James H B Carr Stakes 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Gullible i thought was unlucky last start in the PJ Bell Stakes were she was posted wide. She should improve from that run and she has shown she is a very good horse having beaten Benetta last preparation.
Don’t Back Me: Meidung opened as favourite although the form line she is coming through i don’t think is the strongest and the $2.80 is way unders.
Big Danger: Driefontein finds a much easier race here and she is very well rated when you look at the form. She looks to be the major danger.
Roughie: Five Rocks went back in the PJ Bell Stakes and didn’t have much luck in a race which was slowly run. If there is some speed in the race on Saturday she should be running on well at $51.

Race Three: M.j. Bale Emancipation Stakes 1600m Form Guide

Back Me: Cathay Lady was weighted poorly at WFA conditions last start where she rolled them along in front but was outlclassed. She meets a much easier field here and without any pressure on her will be able to dictate the race and she is at very good odds.
Don’t Back Me: Say No More will have to overcome barrier ten and with the top weight she doesn’t look well suited in this race and im happy to leave her out.
Big Danger: Xanadu is a Group 1 winner over this distance in New Zealand last start and warrants a lot of respect.
Roughie: Shannara has good form around Appearance last start and at $16 she looks very well suited in this race at the odds.

Race Four: Santos Coffee Queen Elizabeth 2000m Form Guide

Back Me: It’s A Dundeel is one of the best if not the best horse racing in Australia at the moment and he should again win easily on Saturday to make it four Group 1’s in a row.
Don’t Back Me: Silent Achiever had a lot of favours last start but couldn’t run down Fiveandahalfstar. Gives It’s A Dundeel weight here so im happy to leave her out.
Big Danger: Reliable Man ran Pierro to 1.5Lengths on his Australian debut last start. He should improve from that run and looks the biggest danger to the favourite.
Roughie: Happy Trails has been awfully disappointing this preparation but if he can turn things around i think he could sneak into the placings.

Race Five: Moet & Chandon 150th Champagne 1600m Form Guide

Back Me: Criterion missed the jump in the Golden Slipper and was never a chance after that. He get’s into the weights well here and there looks to be good speed in the race so he can go back and make his run with favourite Guelph.
Don’t Back Me: Fast ‘n’ Rocking worked home well in the Golden Slipper last start but a horse who has only run two placings from six starts doesn’t look value at $6 against some good horses who have won.
Big Danger: Guelph had a relatively disappointing Melbourne campaign but returning to Sydney was able to beat Overreach in the Sires Produce Stakes impressively and looks the one to beat.
Roughie: Shahad raced wide throughout the Sires Produce Stakes and was still able to make ground in the final stages. She gets a good barrier on Saturday and with Tommy Berry on board will get every chance.

Race Six: Schweppes Sydney Cup 3200m Form Guide

Back Me: Kelinni ran fourth in the Melbourne Cup over this distance last year and ran very well in the JRA which he won with 60kg on a heavy track. Will start as favourite and rightfully so.
Don’t Back Me: Maluckyday has been a bookmakers best friend ever since he won the Lexus Stakes in 2010 having started favourite numerous times since without a win and i think that friendship will continue on Saturday.
Big Danger: Blood Brotha hit the line strongly last start and showed the extra distance will suit. That was his first start in Australia and should improve on Saturday.
Roughie: Mourayan has been disappointing of late although he is a very good horse on his day and if he can return to his best on Saturday should be right in the finish.

Race Seven: Yarraman Park All Aged Stakes 1400m Form Guide

Back Me: Epaulette’s run in the TJ Smith Stakes first up was huge and Darley have been very patient with this horse who oozes class and i think he is the horse to beat in the race and at good odds of $4.50.
Don’t Back Me: All Too Hard is a very good horse but he didn’t beat much in his two Group 1 wins in Melbourne this year and at the odds doesn’t look good value.
Big Danger: More Joyous has an impeccable record over the track and distance and would have won by lengths with any luck in the Queen Of The Turf last start.
Roughie: Rangirangdoo has had his issues but always puts in a big effort and at the odds could sneak into the placings.

Race Eight: Cellarbrations Hall Mark Stks 1200m Form Guide

Back Me: Rarefied is very consistant and has a very good second up record as well as a good record over the distance and in a very even field looks to be the horse that stands out on paper.
Don’t Back Me: Manawanui hasn’t raced in seven months since bleeding in his last race. At his best he would win this but with three trials heading into the race i doubt he is near his best.
Big Danger: Decision Time has been competitive in some very good races this preparation and will benefit from a drop in class here.
Roughie: Somepin Anypin always runs well fresh and from barrier one will be able to save a lot of ground during the run and looks a big threat at double figure odds.

Best Bet: Criterion was unlucky in the Golden Slipper and was never given a hope after missing the jump in the big field. He has his chance to make amends on Saturday.

Next Best: Kelinni won with authority in the JRA Plate last start with the big weight and in a small field here should be able to settle mid field and have every chance.

Best Roughie: Cameo looks a good each way bet in the first race of the day and if she can get over the line the bank will be built for the rest of the meeting.
