Miracle’s Of Life to bounce back in Blue Sapphire Stakes 2013

Miracle’s Of Life’s unbeaten record is gone but the confidence of her trainer Daniel Clarken remains as strong as ever.

And Clarken expects Miracles Of Life to show she can still be a force with her performance at Caulfield on Saturday in the $250,000 Blue Sapphire Stakes (1200m).

“I think at her next two starts you’ll see Miracles Of Life stand right up,” Clarken said.

Adelaide-based Miracles Of Life has remained in Melbourne since her most recent start at Moonee Valley in the Group Three Champagne Stakes (1200m) where she finished second to Thump.

Clarken believes the decision to stay in Melbourne has been the right one and says Miracles Of Life has improved since.

“I think now we’re not travelling and we’re staying at Caulfield has made a big difference,” he said.

“She’s done so well.”

Miracles Of Life was the feelgood story of last season when she sealed a perfect juvenile preparation with victories in the Blue Diamond Preview and Group One Blue Diamond.

But after four wins from as many starts last season, Miracles Of Life hasn’t managed to return to the winner’s circle in her two starts as a three-year-old, finishing fourth in the McNeil Stakes first-up before her second at Moonee Valley.

Clarken hasn’t lost faith.

“As we all know, it’s hard to be a Black Caviar and win, win, win, win all the time,” he said.

“I’m more than happy with her.

“You can’t keep winning, it’s hard, but at the same time she has been super competitive. She’ll acquit herself well on Saturday.”

Miracles Of Life’s major spring target is the Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) and Clarken expects the filly to be at her peak for that race.

Last start winners Iconic and Lion Of Belfort are joint favourites for the Blue Sapphire just ahead of Villa Verde and Miracles Of Life in a competitive nine-horse field.
