Sydney ended their preseason on the best possible note, winning the Australia Cup a fortnight ago and will head into the new A-League season with their sights set on more silverware.

As for the Victory, 2022/23 was another nightmare campaign, although finishing 11th was an improvement on the wooden spoon from two seasons ago.

On paper they have a decent squad and as long as they can keep their key players fit they should find a way to be competitive most weeks.

However I like Sydney’s forward line too much to be kept quiet here, and the overs is the way to go , especially considering that has hit in four of the last five meetings between the clubs.
