Leighton Baines and Nikica Jelavic scored in the second half to give Everton a 2-0 English Premier League victory over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.
Swansea had the better of a low-key first half but could not capitalize on its advantage as Phil Jagielka blocked a Gylfi Sigurdsson strike and a Wayne Routledge shot sailed over the bar to keep the scores level.
The visitors took the lead in the 59th minute when Baines curled a free kick into the corner of the net after Ashley Williams had brought the England international down on the edge of the box.
Jelavic secured the victory with a tap-in goal in the 76th to halt Swansea’s run of three league wins in a row.
With the victory, Everton leapfrogs Swansea into ninth place.
