A win could prove crucial for the Thunder and Renegades when they meet in Canberra on Thursday.

Sydney’s finals hopes took a serious hit with a loss to the ‘Canes on Sunday, a result that has left them sitting seventh with work to do.

The ‘Gades, meanwhile, remain in prime position in third, but they have every right to feel a little nervous about this one knowing they’ve lost four of their last five games to the Thunder.

That said, Melbourne prevailed at Marvel when these two sides met last month by a comfortable four-wicket margin. A tidy 70 not out from Aaron Finch did the trick, while the bowling attack also tore through Sydney’s top order holding the opening partnership to just 19 runs.

With Tom Rogers still firing on all cylinders, I’m backing Melbourne’s bowling to get the job done.
