Race 1 – 12:20pm – Cabra-Vale Diggers Handicap (1350m)

Shihonka will take winning form into the first at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, and she looks well placed to make it two in a row.

The Capitalist filly has been a consistent performer since making her debut, winning twice and missing placing only once in five previous starts.

It is fair to say that her most-recent effort in BM68 company here was the best of her career so far, and she will only improve into this contest.

Race 2 – 12:55pm – Highway Handicap (1800m)

Sumdeel raced home well to fill the minors in a Highway race a fortnight ago, and I think that this looks the perfect opportunity for her to strike.

The Dundeel mare has been a consistent performer this time in, and she recorded an imporessive win at Albury prior to her first trip to town.

She steps out on Saturday in peak order, and with even luck, I can’t find a reason why she won’t be in the finish.

Race 3 – 1:30pm – Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL Sprint (1200m)

Snitzonfire faces a rise in class at Rosehill on Saturday, but he also puts an unbeaten record on the line, and I am confident that he will continue his journey through the grades.

The Snitzel gelding stamped himself as a runner to follow with a smart win on debut at Nowra and he simply hasn’t looked back, scoring here at Rosehill and at Randwick-Kensington respectively.

He has been freshened and sent back to the trials since his last race, and this does looks the next logical step for him.

Race 4 – 2:05pm – Guildford Leagues Handicap (1100m)

I’m going to give Wisdom Of Water one last chance at Rosehill on Saturday.

He certainly hasn’t found his best form this time in, but Wisdom Of Water has continued to hint that big effort and win might be just around the corner, and he takes his place in this field following a credible third placing behind Eleven Eleven in the Warra Sprint.

He’s rock-hard fit and around the $8 mark, we can have an each-way play.

Race 5 – 2:40pm – Midway Handicap (1300m)

This looms as one of the more open contests on Saturday’s Rosehill program and there is a case to be made for several gallopers, including Arctic Thunder.

Arctic Thunder hasn’t been seen at the races since August, but she was a consistent performer in decent company last time, and recorded a dominant win in BM72 company most nbotably.

She’s had the benefit of a trial in the lead-up to her return, and the booking of James McDonald certainly doesn’t hinder her chances of winning.

Race 6 – 3:20pm – Campbelltown Catholic Club Handicap (1800m)

This shapes as another quality contest with several talented gallopers engaged, but I am going to stick with the last-start winner Rousseau.

It did take Rousseau a few starts to get going upon resuming this time, but she charged home to only just miss at The Valley two starts back before breaking back into the winner’s stall last time out.

Importantly, he form on a rain-affected track is good, and she is another whose claims have been enhanced with the booking of James McDonald.

Race 7 – 4:00pm – Cabra Bowls Handicap (2000m)

Welsh Legend was scratched from a similar contest in Sydney last week, and I am confident that she can strike at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Camelot mare has been a great horse for the Waller stable throughout her career and has made races not dissimilar to this one her bread and butter, picking off several along the way.

She steps out this week second-up, she’ll relish getting out to 2000m and she should find a nice position in running, behind the race’s early leaders.

Race 8 – 4:40pm – Dooleys Handicap (1500m)

For Valour is seeking a hat-trick of wins when he steps out at Rosehill on Saturday and he looks well placed to pull it off.

The Zoustar gelding was far too good on the heavy going at Hawkesbury two starts back, and he converted that performance into another easy win at Wyong.

This is another rise in class, but conditions will suit, and it looks the perfect opportunity for him to successfully transition to metro company.

Race 9 – 5:20pm – Bankstown Sports Club Handicap (1400m)

Katalin will take plenty of beating third-up at Rosehill Gardens.

The talented Godolphin galloper enjoyed an ideal return to the races when leading home a classy field here in late October, but she was a little flat at Newcastle last time out.

Fitter third-up, from the good draw and with a light weight in tow, she can bounce back.

Race 10 – 6:00pm – Smithfield RSL Club Sprint (1200m)

Talented country galloper Two Big Fari will make his return to the races in the last at Rosehill on Saturday, and he looms as a genuine each-way chance.

The Walking Or Dancing gelding has been a strong performer throughout his career, and he has laid a great account for himself in decent races for several seasons.

He gets some relief in this contest under Tom Sherry, his fresh record is good and he is drawn to receive every chance from barrier 5.
