Pierro outclasses All Too Hard in Sires Produce Stakes 2012

Golden Slipper winner Pierro has maintained his unbeaten record with a dominant performance in the Group One Sires’ Produce Stakes at Randwick.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Lonhro colt made it five wins from five starts and took his prizemoney past $2.6 million with his comfortable defeat of the previously unbeaten All Too Hard, Black Caviar’s half-brother, and Limes in the 1400m feature.

Pierro gave jockey Nash Rawiller another win at the elite level after last week’s Slipper success and he was full of praise for the two-year-old.

“Too good,” Rawiller said.

“He’s a great horse, he’s just getting better and better.

“We’ve got a superstar, we know that.”

Waterhouse would not be drawn as to whether Pierro would attempt to complete the juvenile triple crown in the Group One Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick in two weeks.

“He’s an outstanding horse,” she said.

“He’s the best of his generation.

“He’s outstanding.”
