The McCafe Handicap (1000m) – 12:35pm AEDT

Inundation is a dual acceptor in Sydney, but will start this race a clear favourite if this is the way that Mick Price & Mick Kent Jnr elect to go.

He was a dominant winner fresh from a spell, but was rolled as a $1.45 favourite last time out.

Fitter third-up and under Jamie Kah, this does look a good opportunity for him to bounce back.

Suggested Bet: No. 1 Inundation

Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes (1000m) – 1:10pm AEDT

Serasana was a dominant winner on debut here at Sandown last month, and she rates as a key winning chance in the Chairman’s Stakes.

The Snitzel filly showed ability at the trials prior to debuting, and couldn’t have been more impressive when kicking clear to win by more than three lengths.

This is harder, but she has plenty of ability, and can join the likes of Extreme Choice, Loving Gaby and Enthaar has Chairman’s Stakes winners.

Suggested Bet: No. 3 Serasana

Robert Hunter Handicap (1800m) – 1:45pm AEDT

There is a case to be made for a few of them in Race 3 on Chairman’s Stakes Day, including Field The Moment.

Field The Moment did race greenly during her debut preparation, but hinted at ability, racing fairly around some decent gallopers.

She made an ideal return to the races this time, however, breaking her maiden in dominant fashion at Cranbourne, while she was last seen finishing second behind the talented Shuffle Dancer at The Valley.

Fitter third-up and out in trip, she can continue her rise through the grades.

Suggested Bet: No. 8 Field The Moment

John Moule Handicap (1300m) – 2:20pm AEDT

Kimberley Pearl returned to winning form in smart fashion at Mornington a couple of weeks ago, and something like this looks well within her means as well.

The Fastnet Rock filly hasn’t missed the placings in four career starts, and broke her maiden at Wangaratta first-up from a break.

She was denied by an impressive Bifrost at Stony Creek two back, but beat home an odds-on favourite at her last appearance, and steps out this week in peak order.

Suggested Bet: No. 3 Kimberley Pearl

Mal Seccull Handicap (1400m) – 3pm AEDT

Rhinoceros looks to have returned to a bit of form recently, and I am going to have something on him in Race 5 on Chairman’s Stakes Day.

The Vadamos gelding filled the minors in three-consecutive races here and at The Valley before dropping back in class to record a comfortable win at Pakenham last time out.

I think that performance and manner of victory will do plenty for his confidence, and at peak fitness, something like this doesn’t look beyond him.

Suggested Bet: No. 4 Rhinoceros

The Graham Archibald Girdwood Classic (1300m) – 3:40pm AEDT

Some intriguing gallopers appear in final declarations for the sixth at Sandown on Saturday, including Daytona Bay.

Daytona Bay hardly put a hoof wrong during his debut preparation, winning four of five starts and filling the minors behind the talented Cardinal Gem at Caulfield on the other occasion.

His most recent appearance was back in July, but he clearly goes well fresh and the booking of Jamie Kah adds further confidence.

Suggested Bet: No. 3 Daytona Bay

Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1300m) – 4:20pm AEDT

This shapes as an open edition of the Bellmaine Stakes with plenty of winning chances, and there looks to be great value to be found in the market.

Rose Quartz finished second in Group 3 company last time out, she has found form around some talented gallopers and she is the one for me this week.

The Written Tycoon mare has missed the placings only a handful of times in fourteen career starts, and she has proven that she is a genuine black type contender this time in.

She’s rock-hard fit and this looks the perfect feature for her.

Suggested Bet: No. 4 Rose Quartz

Ladbroke It! Handicap (1800m) – 5pm AEDT

The talented Detonator Jack will go around in the penultimate race on Chairman’s Stakes Day, and I think he’ll simply prove too good this week.

The Jakkalberry gelding has enjoyed an outstanding twelve months, recording five wins and three minors from his eight career starts, including a third placing in Group 1 company.

So far this time he has recorded two wins and only just been denied on the other two occasions, and the 1800m should prove the difference in a return to winning form. He is my best bet of the day.

Suggested Bet: No. 5 Detonator Jack

Catanach’s Jewellers Handicap (1700m) – 5:40pm AEDT

St Lawrence remains undefeated and can win the last at Sandown on Saturday.

The Redwood gelding won his debut start in New Zealand last April and was immediately put away, and he has greeted the judge in races at Geelong, and here at Sandown, this time in.

He around five weeks between starts, but continues to jump as the bar is raised, and he can win again.

Suggested Bet: No. 2 St Lawrence
