Atlantic Jewel is the only horse punters want in tomorrow’s Caulifield Stakes where she is expected to cement Cox Plate favouritism.
Atlantic Jewel ($1.50) has received 97 percent of all money with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au to take out the Caulfield Stakes. The Mark Kavanagh trained mare is also the best backed runner in the Cox Plate, where she heads the betting on $3.20.
“Atlantic Jewel is the only one punters want. There has been a sprinkling for Green Moon ($12), but it’s one way traffic for Kav’s star. When she wins we expect punters to launch again for the Cox Plate,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.
Sportsbet.com.au has markets up for all the spring majors and in the Caulfield Guineas, will refund punters their bet if their horse runs second or third in the race.
In the other Caulfield Group 1, the Guineas, punters are torn between favourite Long John ($3.80) and Prince Harada ($5.00). In an open betting, race Dissident ($9.00), Éclair Big Bang ($7.00) and El Roca ($7.50) are also popular.
Outsider Fuerza is the best supported runner in the Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick. Fuerza is $34 into $31 with Savvy Nature heading the market on $3.50.
