Caulfield Guineas Day is an important part of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, where it opens Caulfield Spring Racing and sets the tone for the great thoroughbred season ahead. The historic and highly regarded Caulfield Guineas is the centrepiece of the days racing, with other big name races and multiple supporting events filling out the days program.

While the Caulfield Guineas is definitely the number one attraction on Caulfield Guineas Day, there are a total of three Group 1 races hosted. The other two big name races are the Toorak Handicap and Caulfield Stakes, both of which also get a lot of attention from punters. The Group 1 Toorak Handicap is held over 1600 metres and open to horses three years old and up. The 2000 metre Caulfield Stakes is also open to three year olds and up.
The 2013 edition of the Caulfield Guineas will be run on Saturday October 12, with 235 nominations received. Along with the main race and supporting events, there are also a number of fashion and entertainment attractions for guests and members to enjoy on the day. The Boulevard is known as the place where fashion and racing collide, situated within the Health Enclosure at Caulfield Racecourse. With alfresco dining options and direct access to the track, this is one of the main places to be seen on race day.
Early bird tickets for the Caulfield Guineas are $30 if purchased before the 21st of September, with the price rising to $40 after that date. Gate price admission is $45 and the concession price is $25. Platinum Reserved Seating options are available in the Rupert Clarke Grandstand for $115, including a complimentary drink and race book. Birds Of Tokyo are performing live at this years Caulfield Guineas, with the Chadstone Fashion Stakes another highlight of the day.
There are ten feature races held on the day, including three Group 1 events, three Group 2 events, one Group 3 event.
