SA win toss, bat against Tasmania in final

South Australia will bat after winning the toss against Tasmania in Saturday’s one-day cricket final in Adelaide.

The Redbacks, seeking their first one-day title in 25 years, recalled batsman Cameron Borgas from an elbow injury for the day-night fixture.

SA named paceman Joe Mennie as their 12th man and omitted James Smith from their 13-man squad.

Tasmania included Ricky Ponting after his axing from the Australian one-day team, forcing Matt Johnston into 12th man duties.

The Tigers are chasing a third one-day crown in five seasons in Saturday’s final, which will start in scorching 37 degree heat.
