When: Wednesday 9 January,7:15pm

Where: MCG

Bet: Bet On This Match HERE

MELBOURNE STARS (3-2) ($2.05) v PERTH SCORCHERS (1-5) ($1.77)

The Wolf expects Ben Dunk and Nick Larkin to open in the absence of Stoinis. The Stars have not dropped a wicket before 20+ runs in 3/5 of their games this season. Most importantly 2 of those starts have been in their last two games.

The Stars openers will know that an upset depends on a good start and we expect them to cruise past 20 runs before losing a wicket. It is their lack of batting depth that makes them vulnerable against the Scorchers.

Fall of first wicket over 19.5 – Melbourne Stars ($1.88)

Ben Dunk over 18.5 ($1.88)

WHAT TO EXPECT: Despite their 1-5 record and the match being played at the MCG, the Scorchers start as the favourite in this match. The Wolf finds it hard to see the Stars winning their 4th game in a row without the Big Show, Stoinis and Handscomb scoring some runs. Perth are lucky that Andrew Tye and Nathan Coulter Nile were overlooked for selection in the Australian ODI side.

We think the Scorchers will be too strong. They should be sending some flowers to the Australian selectors.
