The eighth edition of ‘The Throwdown’ should feature some extra spice on Saturday as both the Phoenix and United look to bounce back from respective losses last week.

The Bullets surprisingly got the better of South East Melbourne by double digits, while some sloppy errors cost United a victory against the Wildcats.

The Phoenix have a chance to level up the score with their rivals after losing two of their previous three meetings this year, and despite what the market suggests, there is a case to be made for Simon Mitchell’s side to at least keep this game close.

Although they’ve had their fair share of defensive struggles, the Phoenix have far and away been the top offensive side in the competition ranking first in points-per-game and second in three-point percentage.

The Phoenix have also played to a strong 9-4 record against the spread on the back of a loss, so if they can copy Perth’s game plan and force some basic handling errors, this game doesn’t look beyond them.
