In freefall after enduring their sixth straight loss, the Orlando Magic will be desperate to win when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Magic’s skid is their longest since February 2018, while Monday’s 91-84 loss at New York marked their lowest score since November 29, 2019.

Nikola Vucevic has continued to perform admirably throughout the streak, including a 24-point, 14-rebound double-double against the Knicks, and he could be the key to success on Wednesday given he recorded 55 points and 23 rebounds during a sweep of last season’s two-game series against Minnesota.

His job will be made easier by the absence of Karl-Anthony Towns, who has missed eight of his team’s last 10 games, resulting in a 1-9 record which includes a 108-97 loss at Atlanta last time out.
