Sixth plays eighth on Friday night in a game that could turn out to be surprisingly entertaining.
The Taipans and the Breakers both bounced-back last week from disappointing losses in Round 9.
Cairns pulled off a hard-fought seven-point victory over the red-hot Melbourne United at home, while New Zealand handed the Hawks a double-digit loss in Auckland.
Now at 5-7, the Taipans have been favoured by 4.5-points in the early market, largely due to their tidy 4-2 record at home.
The Breakers last won in Cairns this time last year, handing the Taipans an 11-point loss in one of their few wins away from home. Unfortunately for the Kiwis though, it’s difficult to find any faith in their 0-5 record on the road this year.
The Taipans have won back-to-back games once already this year, while you have to rewind all the way back to last November to find New Zealand’s most recent winning streak.
With that in mind, it’s worth taking the Taipans to control this game for the entirety.
