Cronulla and Manly are both aiming to regroup from bitter disappointment and re-stake their top-four claims.

The 2-3 Sharks have followed up comfortable wins over the Cowboys and Rabbitohs with a convincing home defeat to the Bulldogs and a last-gasp away loss to the Raiders.
Again the blowtorch has been applied to marquee half Nicho Hynes after he went missing with the games in the balance.

The 3-2 Sea Eagles had been terrifyingly good at home – outscoring the Cowboys, Raiders, and Eels 108-36 at 4 Pines Park – but the Storm came to town and made them look second-rate last Sunday, powering to a 48-24 win.

It was the equal-most points conceded by Manly since 2020, with Tom Trbojevic’s latest injury layoff now thrust into a different light and the Daly Cherry-Evans drama also taking on a different feel.

Teig Wilton and Siosifa Talakai return for the Sharks, while Josh Aloiai is back for the Sea Eagles in time to replace the suspended Corey Waddell.

The Sharks have won four of their last five against the Sea Eagles, including a 40-20 final-round blowout at 4 Pines Park in their only clash in 2024.
However, Manly has won four of its last five at Shark Park.

The Sea Eagles boast just two regular-season wins on the road since Round 7 last year.
That provides the Sharks with a much-needed advantage, but this nevertheless shapes as a cliff-hanger.
