After last year’s cancelation, the John Deere Classic returns to the PGA schedule on Friday (AEDT) in what is also the final stop before next week’s fourth major, The Open Championship.
The tournament is lacking some of the usual ‘oomph’ with most guys opting to rest before heading over to Royal St George’s, leaving Daniel Berger, Brian Harman, and Sungjae Im atop the market.
Aussie Cam Davis will also be in attendance after achieving his maiden PGA TOUR win last week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Kevin Streelman at $23.00
Streelman missed the cut at the Travelers but comes in well-rested after a fortnight off.
His form prior was outstanding, the highlight being a T8 at Kiawah Island and a T15 at Torrey Pines last month.
Better yet, the 43-year-old has finished Top 10 on three occasions at this event, while he also ranks fourth in Strokes Gained: Approach.
The fairways at TPC Deere Run are fairly easy to find, so a consistent short game and a hot putter should take Streelman a long way.

Cam Davis at $29.00
I tend to stay away from certain guys after winning the previous week, but I think the Sydneysider is worth a wager on what is a similar course to the Detroit Golf Club.
Davis sunk some big putts in the playoff to secure his first win on TOUR, so I think that bodes well on a course like TPC Deere Run that calls for plenty of birdies.
With some confidence and nerve also on his side, here’s hoping for another big weekend from the Aussie.

Zach Johnson at $41.00
It’s been a forgettable year for the two-time major winner, but he’s always a factor when it comes to TPC Deere Run.
Johnson won this event way back in 2012 and has also finished Top 5 on six other occasions.
Well-rested from a T25 at the Travelers, it also helps to know he ranks third in Strokes Gained: Putting, a key statistic on a course that lends itself to low scores.
