This A conference game could prove to be a fascinating contest.
North started last weekend’s game strong against the Dees, kicking the first two goals of the match only to have a goalless second quarter and eventually going down to Melbourne by two points despite being five up at three quarter time.
The likes of Ash Riddell dominated with 20 disposals to her name, as did Jas Garner and skipper Emma Kearney but it simply wasn’t enough for the Kangaroos.
GWS managed to get over the Gold Coast Suns by one point last weekend in horrible conditions.
While the game was the lowest scoring AFLW contest in the competitions four year history, the Giants managed to hold on in a slog with two goals kicked in the entire match.
Defender Alyce Parker is a ball magnet and managed 22 disposals and some solid tackles in the horrible conditions.
GWS ability to grind out that one point win over the Suns must be commended and North will be hurting letting the game slide against the Demons.
North Melbourne are a very talented AFLW team and with the short length of the competition the Kangaroos will want to get a much needed early win to get their season underway and they should be able to get the job done over GWS.
