An elbow injury is threatening Heather Watson’s Australian Open campaign after the British No.1 was forced to withdraw from next week’s Hobart International.
Watson suffered the injury during her three-set loss to Dutchwoman Kiki Bertens in the second round of the Auckland Classic on Wednesday.
“I injured my elbow yesterday in my singles match, unfortunately I have to withdraw from Hobart,” Watson tweeted.
“Doing everything I can to get healthy.”
