This could very well be a midseason preview of the 2021 A-League Grand Final as the surging Melbourne City hosts the league leading Central Coast Mariners.

Even if City were to win both of their games in hand, they would still trail Central Coast by a point however they can give themselves a chance to overtake them with this six pointer.

Part of Central Coast’s rise to the top was a 3-2 win over City in early February in Gosford with the Mariners digging themselves out of an early 2-0 hole.

I have learned not to back against Central Coast without a very good reason and City’s insanely good form of late is a very good reason.

At $1.70 (at the time of writing) that’s far too short to take on Alen Stajcic’s steam train but there is other value in the market.

Both teams are very strong going forward and we should see plenty of goals flying in here.
