Mark Webber firms to win 2012 Formula 1 World Championship

Mark Webber has firmed from $12 into $6.00 with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au to win the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship with punters moving quickly to back the Aussie after he won the British GP last night.

After Sebastian Vettel, who has attracted 47% of the money to win the title, Webber is the next best supported driver, having now attracted 19% of the money.

Despite the punters support, Webber remains on the fourth line of betting behind Fernando Alonso ($2.75), Vettel ($3.00) and Lewis Hamilton ($5.50).

“Vettel clearly remains the punters pick right now but they obviously liked what they saw from Webber on Sunday night and moved quickly to back him,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.

“Webber has now attracted more money to win the title than Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton combined.”
