Wild Rain is a very good fresh performer and the Mark Kavanagh trained mare has been the best supported in early betting to take out the Rubiton Stakes (1100m) this Saturday at Caulfield.

The five year old mare has a fab record at the 1100m, winning two and placing on a further four occasions from seven starts at the trip. Her latest jump out was very good to the eye, so it’s no surprise to see her firm into $5.00 after opening $7.50.

Favourite for the race is one of the worlds best sprinters in Chautauqua. He opened $2.30 and is currently sitting at $2.50. Helbent is next best at $5.00, just ahead of stablemate El Divino at $7.50, in from $7. That pair filled the minor spots in the Kensington Stakes (1000m) at Flemington.
