Sri Lankan allrounder Sachithra Senanayake will join Big Bash strugglers the Sydney Sixers for their remaining two matches.
The 27-year-old has been recruited to replace West Indian Sunil Narine, who has returned to the Caribbean to play for Trinidad and Tobago in their domestic Twenty20 competition.
Like Narine, Senanayake is a right-arm offspinner and will link up with the Sixers on Friday ahead of their match against the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba on Monday.
The defending Big Bash champions, who are languishing in second-last spot on the table with only a glimmer of hope of qualifying for the finals, complete their preliminary schedule against the Melbourne Renegades at the SCG on Wednesday.
Senanayake, who is also a handy right-hand batsman, made his one-day debut for Sri Lanka against South Africa in January last year and has also made two T20 international appearances.
