The Blues might be $2.80 outsiders to win State Of Origin game 1 tomorrow night but punters betting in New South Wales are confident of an upset.
64% of punters living in NSW who have so far had a bet on game 1 at Sportingbet.com.au are backing Blue.
“Our game 1 odds reflect a 33% probability of a NSW victory, so to have 64% of NSW bettors backing the Blues shows just how passionate they are about cheering them on,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
Interestingly, across the border 62% of punters living in Queensland who have had a bet on game 1 at Sportingbet are backing the Maroons, despite them being clear-cut $1.45 favourites.
Across the country, 51% of Sportingbet punters are tipping a Queensland victory in game 1.
Sportingbet is offering more than 200 markets on Origin game 1 and anticipates to take more than 20,000 individual bets on the game, with up to 25% of those bets to be placed in the final hour before kickoff.
