Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland says outgoing NRL boss David Gallop has a great insight into common issues faced by major Australian sports.

Sutherland worked closely with Gallop on the Board of the Coalition of Major Participation and Professional Sports (COMPPS) and said he appreciated his insight and practical knowledge.

Sutherland, who is COMPPS chairman, said he respected Gallop’s intelligence, feelings for sports issues important to the Australian public, and his strong personal and professional values.
