Bulldog Payne only player charged by NRL

Canterbury forward Corey Payne was the only player charged by the NRL match review committee on Monday from round 13 action but will escape suspension if he takes the early guilty plea for a high tackle.

Payne was slapped with a grade one careless charge for his tackle on South Sydney’s Jason Clark in the Bulldogs’ 23-18 win over the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night.

If he takes the plea, Payne will be free to play in the Bulldogs’ next clash against St George Illawarra on Friday week.
