Tasmania have finalised their squad for the 2012-13 Sheffield Shield and one-day seasons with two more signings.
Former Queensland wicketkeeper/batsman Ben Dunk will move south on a one-year deal, while teenage local batsman Beau Webster has signed a rookie contract.
Dunk will effectively replace back-up `keeper/batsman Tom Triffitt, who has joined Western Australia, with former Test gloveman Tim Paine expected to return from a long-term injury.
Tasmania have also added axed South Australia batsman Aiden Blizzard, Andrew Fekete and Timm van der Gugten to the senior list.
Coach Tim Coyle said the Tigers, who made the four-day and one-day competitions’ finals last season, had managed to keep the core of their squad.
“To retain our important players from our program over the last few years, which was the absolute priority for us, was great,” he said.
“But to then value-add to the list as we have to give us depth in both forms of the game has been an outstanding result.”
Tasmania squad: George Bailey (capt), Jackson Bird, Luke Butterworth, Aiden Blizzard, Steve Cazzulino, Mark Cosgrove, Ed Cowan, Alex Doolan, Ben Dunk, James Faulkner, Andrew Fekete, Evan Gulbis, Matt Johnston, Jason Krejza, Adam Maher, Tim Paine, Timm van der Gugten.
On Cricket Australia contracts: Xavier Doherty, Ben Hilfenhaus, Ricky Ponting.
