Port Adelaide coach Matthew Primus has brushed off scrutiny of his tenure, saying his program is working at the AFL club.
Primus has endured a difficult week under the spotlight following last Sunday’s loss to Richmond – his 24th defeat from 28 games as Port coach.
But Primus said he was not concerned by opinions from outside his club.
“We are here to concentrate on training and playing footy, not worrying about what the outside world thinks,” Primus told reporters on Friday.
Port have a 1-5 win-loss record entering Sunday’s away clash against Fremantle, but Primus said he had no doubt Port were improving.
“We can jump at shadows in round six or we can stick to what we’re doing and believe in that,” he said.
“We would love to get a win but the program is working.”
