Brisbane key defender Daniel Merrett has avoided suspension despite being found guilty by the AFL Tribunal of charging St Kilda’s Nick Riewoldt.
The tribunal downgraded Merrett’s charge from reckless to negligent and imposed a reprimand and a penalty of 93.75 points.
Merrett had been facing a two-match ban.
