Sydney defender Ted Richards says co-captain Adam Goodes is on track to return from injury in the side’s SCG clash with Geelong on Friday night.
Goodes has missed the last five games while nursing a quadriceps tear.
Richards said the dual Brownlow medallist used the bye to prove that he is ready for the Cats.
“Really optimistic (Goodes will return),” Richard said on Monday.
“He trained on Saturday. He didn’t have much of a break over the bye, he’s been working really hard.
“He’s going to be doing full training today and if he gets through today and Wednesday he’s all good for Friday.”
Richards said the Swans were refreshed after the week off and looking forward to a rare chance of playing under the Friday night spotlight.
“I think we had one last year and previously we never got them,” he said.
“So all the players are really pumped about it.”
