Buddy Franklin loses 2012 Coleman Medal support

Buddy Franklin’s inaccuracy in front of goal has seen his Coleman Medal odds drift out to their biggest figure since the market opened, out from $2.85 to $4.00 with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

On the other hand Jack Riewoldt’s six goal effort has seen him come right back into contention, with his odds halved from $12 to $6.00.

And with his two match suspension served, Taylor Walker is once again back with a chance, with his odds firming from $10 to $7.00 given that despite missing two games he is only one goal behind the leader Tom Hawkins.

“Buddy has been the best backed player and has been favourite since day one, but he would want to get his goal kicking boots on pretty quickly as his accuracy has no doubt been frustrating punters over the last few weeks,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

“Hawkins’ injury has cost him, particularly with Riewoldt starting to hit some form and the Tigers being up and about.”

“Walker also looms as a good chance as he missed two weeks but basically didn’t lose any ground. He will be fresh after two weeks off and could be a real dark horse.”

With Riewoldt being the second best backed player, punters will be pleased with his return of form. Particularly the punter who bet $2,000 on Riewoldt at odds of $12 after round five, for a potential collect of $24,000 should he win.
