Bolton to miss 2-3 weeks with knee injury

Sydney AFL veteran Jude Bolton is expected to miss only two or three weeks after scans on his knee revealed no serious damage.

Bolton hobbled from the ground during the Swans’ 22-point win over Carlton on Sunday, with some fearing he had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

However, the 32-year-old midfielder confirmed on Twitter he should return before the finals.

“Good result with the scan – thanks for all the messages of support! Should only miss 2-3 weeks. Will help cheer the boys on vs Coll! #afl,” Bolton tweeted.

Bolton, who has played 297 games, is one of four players on the Swans’ list that were part of the 2005 premiership team.

He is expected to miss Saturday’s blockbuster against Collingwood and the following game against Western Bulldogs.

The Swans then have crucial clashes against Hawthorn at the SCG, before ending the season with an away game against Geelong.
