French No.1 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has sustained a badly twisted little finger on his right hand, his agent said Friday, a day after the Frenchman was knocked out of Queen’s.
The 27-year-old suffered a miserable third round exit from Queen’s Club on Thursday as the world No.5 was beaten 7-6 (7-3) 3-6 7-6 (7-5) by Croatia’s Ivan Dodig.
His agent Morgan Menahem said thoughts had immediately moved to treating his finger ahead of Wimbledon, where Tsonga was a semi-finalist last season.
Tests have so far indicated that the finger was badly twisted, with new examinations planned for Monday after some rest, Menahem said.
