The greatest fairytale in Australian sport in 2021 is fast running out of steam with the Mariners winless in their last three.

They could very easily go into this match in second place and could end the round as low as fourth depending on other results.

We are not quite at the “must win” stage of the season for the Mariners premiership hopes, but they have to find a way to slow down what has been a largely infallible Adelaide side in the last month.

The Reds had to operate on a different script last weekend defeating Sydney in a surprisingly low scoring affair but their first clean sheet since January was a very encouraging sign.
