Warriors NRL trainer leaves for Roosters

Warriors’ trainer Craig Walker is returning to the Sydney Roosters after a long stint with the Auckland-based NRL club.

Walker, whose family hails from Sydney, has reached an agreement for a release from the Warriors, who he joined in 2005 from the Roosters.

Warriors’ chief executive Wayne Scurrah said the club appreciated Walker’s efforts over almost seven years.

“He has made a significant contribution in what is a highly-specialised area in the NRL these days.

“Craig’s returning home to the eastern suburbs in Sydney with his family in time for the pre-season. We thank Craig and wish him all the best in the future.”

Walker said he was grateful for the opportunity to work with the Warriors.

“It’s sad leaving but I’ve got great memories from my time, the football staff and the players.”
