NRL Round 2 Odds and Betting Preview – 2021

Punters expect Melbourne Fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen to continue his stellar goal-kicking form in tonight’s blockbuster against Parramatta, with the Storm sensation surging into favouritism in TAB’s NRL Top Point Scorer market.

Papenhuyzen has shortened dramatically from $9.00 into $3.50 after opening at $11 in a market that was previously headed by Panthers playmaker Nathan Cleary ($4.50) and South Sydney sharp shooter Adam Reynolds ($5.50).

Taking over goal-kicking duties from Cameron Smith, Papenhuyzen starred in last week’s win over the Rabbitohs with a personal haul of 18 points from two tries and 5 goals. The Storm custodian is paying $2.60 to score 12 or more points against the Eels at Bankwest Stadium.

Melbourne ($1.47) hold 88% of the money in Head To Head bets against Parramatta with TAB taking two separate bets of $9,000. The Eels have only beaten the Storm as underdogs once in the last ten years, although they did win last season’s round 15 match at home. They moved from $2.90-$2.70 this morning.

In other updates to TAB NRL markets:

  • The Titans ($1.40) will start at their shortest price ever against the Broncos and Brisbane their longest odds against Gold Coast after opening at $2.75 and drifting to $3.00. The Titans have only been favourites for the south-east Queensland derby twice before since 2011.
  • The Broncos ($3.25) are favourites for The Most Losses from the Dragons ($3.75) but Manly have tightened from $19-$10 and the Cowboys from $19-$15.
  • The Sharks have drifted to $3.00 H2H against the Raiders at home on Sunday.

Don’t forget to get to your local TAB and catch all the NRL, AFL and Group One racing action this Saturday at TAB’s Big Day of Play where customers will be given access to exclusive offers via in venue mode. The in venue experience will also be enhanced with promotions and competitions.
