Michael Jennings linked up with his Sydney Roosters teammates for the first time on Wednesday, 24 hours after putting the finishing touches to his four-year deal with the NRL club.
The NSW and Test centre ended months of speculation about his future by agreeing to join the Roosters from Penrith, three years before the end of his $600,000 a year contract.
Jennings arrived at his new club’s Moore Park headquarters just after 9am (AEDT) and underwent a medical to rubber-stamp his new deal, but will not be paraded in front of the media officially until Thursday.
“I’m excited to see the boys. It’s a fresh new start for me,” was all the 24-year-old said as he was escorted out of the building and to his car in a bid to evade the waiting media by Roosters’ recruitment manager Peter O’Sullivan.
