Sportingbet Australia has re-opened betting on the Round 1 NRL game between the Cronulla Sharks and the Gold Coast Titans.

Sportingbet Australia’s Bill Richmond said betting was suspended on Wednesday afternoon as a precaution in anticipation of an official statement from the NRL, but as the NRL have not made any statement in relation to the match, betting has been re-opened.

“We have re-opened the Sharks as $1.60 favourites as at this stage we have been given no reason to believe the team won’t run out as programmed,” Richmond said.

“With the season kicking off tonight we want to give our clients the opportunity to have all of their NRL bets as usual,” Richmond said.

“There was no plunge on the Gold Coast yesterday, we simply took it down as a precaution,” Richmond said.

The Titans remain outsiders at $2.25 for Sunday’s clash.
