Victoria Derby winner Prized Icon has hit the line strongly in a barrier trial, his first public appearance since his Classic victory in November.
The James Cummings-trained colt finished fifth in the 760m heat at Hawkesbury on Monday morning, closing off well under a tight hold from jockey Glyn Schofield.
Prized Icon has been nominated for the Group One Australian Guineas at Flemington on March 4 with the Australian Derby to be held at Randwick on April 1.
