Epsom Handicap day dominated by Gai Waterhouse and Chris Waller

Powerhouse trainers Gai Waterhouse and Chris Waller will dominate the Randwick meeting tomorrow according to punters with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

Waterhouse and Waller will saddle three starters each in the Epsom Handicap, with their stable’s runners well in commission.

The Waller trained Shoot Out has been popular with punters and is at $5.50, but Waterhouse’s Fat Al remains Epsom favourite at $4.40.

“Waller and Waterhouse dominate Sydney racing. Combine their runners and they hold a powerful hand in the Epsom,” sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Hawes said.

“There has been three times the money outlaid on Shoot Out, than any other runner. While he has been the one punters want, Fat Al has remained solid since betting opened.’’

Shoot Out’s stablemate Rangirangdoo is steady at $8.00, attracting a similar amount of wagers to Fat Al.

Trainer Peter Snowden would love to spoil the party and betting indicates Amidexter could do that. His Epsom price trimmed from $26 to $13 after he beat Fat Al in the Sebring Sprint with further support seeing him firm to $6.50.

Punters who instead think Waller and Waterhouse might have on off day can take the odds of $16 that either trainer does not train one of the four Group 1 races being contested.

Waterhouse alone is $9.00 not to train a Group 1 winner and $2.25 to notch at least one on her home track.
