Queensland captain Chris Hartley has won the toss and sent Tasmania in to bat on another green-top for the Sheffield Shield match at Bellerive.
The start of play has been delayed with reports of hail around Hobart and the covers still down.
Tigers left-arm paceman Sam Rainbird will make his Shield debut, with spinner Jason Krejza named 12th man.
Alister McDermott will carry the drinks for the Bulls, who can jump to the top of the ladder with an outright win.
Tasmania need points to stay in touch with top-two sides Victoria and Queensland.
