Bangladesh, replying to the West Indian total of 4(dec)-527, were 3-252 at lunch on the third day of the first Test in Dhaka on Thursday.

Shakib Al Hasan was unbeaten on 65 while Naeem Islam was on 62, having added 133 runs for the fourth wicket – a new record in Test cricket for Bangladesh.

Ravi Rampaul was the tourists’ most successful bowler with 2-66 from 14 overs, removing Junaid Siddique for seven and Shahriar Nafees for 31.

Captain Darren Sammy was the other wicket-taker, dismissing Tamim Iqbal for 72, to have 1-40 from nine overs.
