Sydney ruckman Shane Mumford is free to play in Saturday’s AFL grand final after the match review panel found he had no case to answer from an incident involving Collingwood’s Chris Dawes.
Dawes made a complaint to a field umpire after the incident in Friday night’s preliminary final where the big Swan appeared to make contact with the Magpie ruck-forward’s injured knee.
But the MRP determined no reportable action took place.
As Sydney’s No.1 ruckman, Mumford shapes as a key figure in the grand final against Hawthorn.
The tribunal will not be required to sit on Tuesday after no reports were lodged from the two preliminary finals.
