McMahon facing one-game AFL ban

North Melbourne defender Scott McMahon can accept a one-match ban after the AFL match review panel charged him with striking.

McMahon is facing suspension for an incident involving Geelong youngster Jordan Murdoch during Saturday’s NAB Cup game at Simonds Stadium.

The panel handed him a two-match penalty, but he can reduce it to one game with an early plea.

If McMahon accepts the suspension, he will miss North’s round-one match against Collingwood.

Also on Monday, Essendon onballer Heath Hocking was cleared of a match-day report for making front-on contact with Greater Western Sydney’s Tomas Bugg.
