Matthew Pavlich likely to win 2012 Coleman Medal

Lance Franklin’s absence over the weekend has opened the door for Matthew Pavlich to win the Coleman Medal according to punters, with the Fremantle skipper firming from $2.15 to $1.60 with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

Buddy has now drifted from $4.00 to $14 while Jack Riewoldt has also drifted from $3.25 to $4.50.

“Buddy was expected to kick a bag against Gold Coast but he is now nine goals behind Pavlich and with only two games to go it could be asking too much, even of Buddy,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

The Brownlow Medal appears to still be wide open, with favourite Jobe Watson drifting from $2.75 to $3.75. Gary Ablett has firmed from $5.50 to $4.50 as has Trent Cotchin in from $7.00 to $5.00.

Adelaide’s midfield duo of Patrick Dangerfield ($9.00) and Scott Thompson ($10) have also been given some chance.
