2012 AFL Round 21 preview – Fremantle Dockers vs Richmond Tigers

Paterson Stadium, Saturday 18th August.

After stringing five wins together the Dockers ventured to Adelaide last week and gave a terrific account of themselves against the competition co-leaders, despite being on the wrong side of the score board (119 – 91).The loss kept them on the fringe of the eight and in ninth position on 44 points and with teams all around them on the ladder facing-off (Geelong 7th v St. Kilda 10th and Essendon 8th v Carlton 11th) this is a game that the Dockers can ill afford to lose.Their chances are enhanced with the return of Fyfe and McPharlinThe Tigers are twelfth on the ladder and virtually no chance of making this year’s finals. They’ve won their two most recent matches against the Lions and Bulldogs, both teams below them on the ladder.

HEAD TO HEAD – FREMANTLE $1.41, RICHMOND $3.00

It doesn’t get much bigger than this for the Dockers. Not only are they are at home for this must win match, it is the club’s 400th AFL game. They’ll be too good for the Tigers at home and will give cover the 17.5 line asked of them, a real good nudge.
